Biodiversity Solutions on Display at Landscape 2017

????????????????????????????????????

With careful choice of landscaping products, newbuild developments can have a positive effect on local ecology.  Visitors to Harrowden Turf Ltd’s stand at the Landscape Show in Battersea will be able to see for themselves how green roofs and wildflower meadows can enhance biodiversity without increasing maintenance costs.

The Landscape Show takes place in Battersea Park, London on 19th and 20th September 2017.  A large number of exhibitors will be showcasing products and services to enhance internal and external design.   Harrowden Turf Ltd will be on stand D3 with samples of their living landscaping materials; lawn turf, Meadowmat wild flower matting and Enviromat sedum matting.

Incorporating native species into the planting plan of a new development is a great way to boost the local ecology, help wildlife and indeed can help with the planning process.  Not only that – it’s great PR.   Wild flower meadow areas with a mixture of grasses and flowering species are both colourful and low maintenance.

Grass meadows with wild flowers can be grown in many different situations – in parkland, on slopes, on green roofs or in planters.  However, they can be difficult to establish and have a very different appearance to conventional landscaping. The trick is to select the right species mix for the conditions, to prepare the ground thoroughly and to manage the expectations of the people who will be living and working in the area.

To gain a greater understanding of specifying, installing and managing low maintenance wild flower areas, visit Harrowden Turf ltd at the Landscape show this September.   Angela Lambert (aka @Ladylawn) is a long-term team-member who was involved with the development of Meadowmat and the promotion of green roof products.  She will be on hand to answer all of your wild flower and green roofing questions between 1.30 and 3pm on 19th September and between 11am and 1pm on Wednesday 20th or by appointment.
