DESIGNER CONTRACTS AT HOUSING 2017 CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION Stand P16

The UK’s largest flooring contractor, Designer Contracts, will showcase its latest products and service offering at the Chartered Institute of Housing 2017 Conference and Exhibition.

Following a successful event in 2016, the company is returning to Manchester to present its product portfolio of floorcoverings, curtains and blinds, showhome and design services and furniture and lighting.

A supplier for Procurement for Housing, Designer Contracts combines the buying power and delivery of a national business with local knowledge and customer service.

The company already works with a number of social housing and local authority organisations and with 12 regional depots across the UK, the company has access to all corners of the country. It also has a national distribution facility which holds over £2 million worth of stock, allowing for a swift and efficient turnaround on customer orders.

Said md, Peter Kelsey: “We have an extensive selection of flooring to suit all budgets, including carpet and carpet tiles, vinyl, safety flooring, wood and wood effect, along with leading brands, including Karndean and Amtico.

“From single rooms to entire developments we offer a free on-site survey undertaken by our own staff. And we can accommodate every requirement from price point driven schemes to high profile projects.”

The business holds all relevant qualifications and accreditations including: Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS); Constructionline, Exor and the CQMS Safety Scheme.

The Constructionline accreditation is a UK Government certification service providing an up-to-date register of pre-qualified local and national suppliers to the construction industry and means that all of the company’s health and safety information can be viewed at one source, making it more convenient for the constructor.

Exor accreditation demonstrates the business’s ability to meet the rigorous pre-qualification requirements within the private and public sectors, signifying strong financial stability, compliance with legal requirements and competency.  CQMS is dedicated to promoting higher health and safety standards within industry.

The company also has an award winning carpet recycling scheme in conjunction with Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK), which sees all waste removed from site and taken back to its 12 regional centres, saving 250 tonnes of waste going to landfill every year.

Any waste created is removed from site and recycled wherever possible.  Designer Contracts does not use customers’ skips.

Last year CRUK named the company ‘Take Back Partner of the Year’, for the second time. Graham Kempton, Designer Contracts’ logistics director was also honoured with the Recycling Champion of the Year award, for an individual who has gone the extra mile to ensure as much carpet as possible is recycled at their organisation.

The programme not only includes flooring. Designer Contracts has invested £40,000 in a baling machine that helps to recycle 70 tonnes of cardboard and 20 tonnes of plastic every year.

Designer Contracts can be found on stand P16 at Housing 2017.
