Ceramiche Refin reveals new tile collection for Cersaie 2015

Labyrinth is the newest tile collection by DesignTaleStudio and the product of designer Giulio Iacchetti’s creative touch, set to be unveiled at Cersaie 2015

Signs and remnants of a mythological past are the inspiration for the new collection Labyrinth, a preview that will be presented at Cersaie 2015 by DesignTaleStudio, Ceramiche Refin’s creative laboratory. The collection pays tribute to legendary images of traditional antiquity. Interwoven lines and overlapping and complex traces make up the archetypal theme in the development of two and three-dimensionality in a way that confines chaos within a semblance of order.

From illusions impressed on stone to countless designs by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Labyrinth embraces the ‘never ending’ theme, resulting in a graphic and conceptual manifesto. The designer of the collection, Giulio Iacchetti, explains his desire to take on the challenge proposed by DesignTaleStudio:

“For me, confronting and designing a surface means attempting to achieve the concepts of infinity and three-dimensionality, starting from a modular design which extends without limits into space”.

Labyrinth evokes a sense of depth and loss through the alternation of zigzags, lines broken at varying levels, linear edges and geometric complexities. The idea enhances the expressive potential of ceramic cladding and becomes a synthetic manuscript of past experiences, condensed and relived, resulting in a product imbued with cultural value, mental utopia and dreams of infinity.

With this collection, Ceramiche Refin confirms its passion of researching iconography transformed by history through the use of innovative technology, and manifesting itself on every occasion with contemporary design, transmitting a message which transcends the simple concept of decoration.

Labyrinth and all the latest Refin 2015 products shall be presented on occasion of the press preview scheduled to take place at the company’s stand at Cersaie.
