Company launch: Design your own finishing touches with Naylor & Fay

Home interior enthusiasts who don’t like to skim on the small details are sure to be intrigued to hear about a new business, which helps homeowners create their own beautiful and unique space.

Set in the heart of the picturesque Peak District, Naylor & Fay focuses on the little details. Its range of bespoke handmade switches and sockets are made with the same love, care and attention that people put into creating their perfect home.

One of the appealing parts of the business’ offering is that homeowners are able to design their very own switches and sockets through an easy-to-use website, before they are carefully handmade by the skilled Naylor & Fay team in their workshop, which they share with award-winning carpentry business, Jack Badger.
In total, there are over 40 different combinations of switches and sockets people can create, meaning there is sure to be an option suitable for all needs and tastes.

Whether people are looking for a simple light switch, a shaver socket, or anything in between, the process of designing the product is very simple, fun and – with prices ranging from £40 to £80 – surprisingly affordable.

Firstly, users choose whether they want a chamfered or ovolo profile. The former is 14mm in thickness and 177mm x 115mm for a double switch or 115mm x 115mm for a single, while the latter is 10mm in thickness and 170mm x 110mm for a double and 110mm x 110mm for a single.

Secondly, they choose a surround colour or finish. Naylor & Fay currently offers five colours and finishes – oak, walnut, slaked lime paint, lead paint or stone paint – and four choices of metal switch plates – stainless steel, pearl nickel, polished chrome, or black nickel. The paint is provided by Little Greene.

The website has clear pictures and instructions, making it easy to experiment with the available options and shift between different looks to compare styles, colours and finishes. Once the user is happy with their design, they simply head to the checkout and place their order. The Naylor & Fay team makes the product by hand and posts the completed item to the customer, usually within five working days.

Ben Naylor, MD of Naylor & Fay, said: “Naylor & Fay was born out of a desire to help people surround themselves with beautiful and well-made items. We know how much time, love and effort goes into making a home a perfect sanctuary – and we want to help homeowners achieve this.

“We’re obsessed with good design and quality products that will last a lifetime.
