What More UK Shortlisted for 6 Industry Awards @whamworld

East Lancashire housewares manufacturer What More UK has confirmed its position as a leading organisation in the Northern Powerhouse with shortlistings for 6 industry awards, 3 regional, 2 national and 1 international.

Company employees have good reason to be proud of their achievement, but they’ve no time to celebrate as orders continue to come in at record levels despite lockdown.

The award shortlistings are as follows:

  • Insider Media Made in the North West
    • Export Award
    • Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer
    • Manufacturer of the Year (over £25m)
  • National Recycling Awards
    • Recycled Product of the year (Wham Upcycled)
    • Social Value Initiative (Community Engagement Programme)
  • European Recycling Awards
    • Best Recycled Product (Wham Upcycled)

Winners of the Insider Media Made in the North West Awards will be automatically entered into the national Made in the UK grand final which celebrates the best of Great British manufacturing in Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel on the 18th of November.

Importantly for the company these awards are recognising, not just their excellent manufacturing track record, but also their commitment to sustainable business practices and a greener future for everyone.

Company’s get the reputation they deserve, and this great news for What More UK is clear evidence that the Altham based manufacturer is one of the country’s most appreciated organisations. They are leading the way in plastic recycling and at the same time developing a brilliant community engagement programme.

“This shortlisting really means a lot to us because it shows we’re on the right track” explains company director Tony Grimshaw OBE.

“We’re looking for a sustainable future for our business and everyone involved. That means taking care of the people and the environment we rely on and creating products that have a sustainable lifecycle.”

What More UK was established in 1999 and since then has grown into a truly global operation exporting its products from Lancashire to 73 countries around the world. The organisation also produces bakeware, cookware, gardenware, and products for the home laundry and utility room.
