REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION WITH WHIRLPOOL FOR BIG ENERGY SAVING WEEK @WhirlpoolCorp

Premium appliance manufacturer, Whirlpool is encouraging households to reduce their energy consumption during Big Energy Saving Week, which takes place from 21st – 27th January.

Big Energy Saving Week is a national campaign that aims to help consumers cut their energy bills and focuses on raising consumer awareness of how to make their homes more energy efficient.

In 2018, Whirlpool announced its partnership with Youreko. This is a handy energy saving tool that rates the running cost of each appliance, and compares the lifetime electricity saving against the least and most efficient models available. The Youreko calculator provides users with a personalised electricity cost based upon their usage of different appliances, before comparing running costs and recommending the most suitable appliance to meet their needs. This highlights to consumers the benefits of purchasing more efficient products when replacing or upgrading their appliances, allowing them to reduce their energy consumption, as well as providing them with a clear financial benefit.

The Whirlpool Supreme Care 10 kg washing machine (FSCR 10432 S) boasts an outstanding ‘A+++’ energy rating, reducing energy consumption by 60 per cent. Based on its energy credentials, Youreko presents it with a ‘Best of the Best’ badge, indicating that it boasts the lowest running cost of all 10 kg washing machines, across all brands, in the UK.

Connected appliances hold the potential to take resource and economic savings to the next level. Through harnessing smart and connected technology, appliances can choose the best time to operate, and this, in turn, allows for the greater integration of re-usable energy into the running of our homes.

The Whirlpool Supreme Care Live® washing machine (FSCR 12441) and matching tumble dryer (HSCX 10441) communicate with each other via the Whirlpool 6TH SENSE Live® app. The app communicates the washer’s current programme to the dryer, which will automatically synchronise and set the correct drying cycle, to ensure optimum garment care.

What’s more, the app assists the user in selecting the most efficient wash and dry programmes, and displays an estimate of the energy and water consumption for each cycle. The Whirlpool Eco-monitor on the app enables the user to change individual aspects of the wash programmes to further achieve the best energy savings.

Tailang Bu, Laundry Category Marketing Manager, Whirlpool, says: “Consumers are now, more than ever, aware that the energy efficiency of major appliances significantly contributes to the cost of running their homes. Whirlpool is committed to providing consumers with cost effective, energy efficient appliances that don’t compromise on performance.

“With consumers becoming increasingly environmentally-conscious, reducing energy consumption during Big Energy Saving Week is a great opportunity to make real change, both to household utility bills and the future of our planet.”
