PPSL District Heating partners with Variety, the Children’s Charity, committing to donate £30,000 over the next three years.

PPSL District Heating has announced a three-year partnership with Variety, the Children’s Charity, pledging a minimum of £30,000 to support disabled and disadvantaged children.

By joining Variety’s prestigious Patron’s Club, the leading district heating specialist has committed to an annual donation of at least £10,000 for three years, providing Variety with the sustained funding to plan and provide life-changing support.

The partnership comes at a critical time for Britain’s most vulnerable children.

In 2026, the UK faces an unprecedented child poverty crisis, with 4.3 million children, including over 600,000 with additional needs or disabilities, living below the poverty line.

For these families the financial burden is staggering, with those raising disabled children facing an average of £975 in extra costs every month. Many of these youngsters experience social isolation, reduced opportunities and long term barriers to education and future employment

Laurence Guiness, CEO of Variety, the Children’s Charity, said: “PPSL District Heating’s commitment to supporting disadvantaged and disabled children across the UK is truly inspiring.

“As a Patron, PPSL District Heating  joins a distinguished and generous group that recognise that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

“PPSL’s support will help us continue our vital work providing life-changing equipment, experiences and opportunities to children who need it most.

“We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and look forward to working together to create a better future for Variety’s children.”

Ben Leach, PPSL District Heating Managing Director, said: “From the moment I was introduced to Variety, I knew we had to get involved with this fantastic charity.

“We recognise that the hurdles facing disabled children and their families are higher than ever. By committing to this three-year patronage, we want to move beyond a one-off donation and provide Variety with a reliable foundation to continue their incredible work.

“The team at PPSL District Heating prides itself on taking a big-hearted approach to everything we do and our heart is with the communities in which we live and work.

“We feel honoured to be playing our part in giving something back and raising awareness and funds to give these youngsters the best start possible.”

Dr Michael Josephson MBE, Chairman – Patrons of Variety and Variety’s Chief Barker, added: “Our Patrons play a vital role in making it possible for Variety to continue to transform the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children and young adults throughout the UK.

“It takes a special kind of compassion to be a Patron and for many this will be the first step in a longer relationship with a charity that was brought to the UK by the HRH Duke of Edinburgh over 70 years ago.

“This is a hugely exciting time for Variety, the Children’s Charity, and we look forward to warmly welcoming PPSL District Heating.”
