Humanscale’s latest honours underscore its leadership in designing ergonomic and sustainable products for modern work life
Humanscale, the world leaders in sustainable and high-performance ergonomic design, is delighted to announce that both Float Mini and the Trea collection have been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award 2025.
This globally renowned award is a seal of quality for outstanding design and design quality. For over 70 years the awards have been given by iF International Forum Design GmbH, making it one of the oldest independent design institutions in the world. The awards for Humanscale marks another milestone in Humanscale’s commitment to creating innovative, user-centred designs that promote well-being in the workplace.
Humanscale’s Float Mini and Trea Collection were selected from thousands of entries by an independent panel of expert jurors, who praised the designs for their groundbreaking innovation, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
The awards were given in the discipline of product in the office category and honours the innovative and outstanding design of both Float Mini and Trea. This makes Humanscale one of the best among the almost 11,000 submissions from 66 countries – an impressive achievement that underlies the highly competitive nature of this award.
Float Mini Sit/Stand Table
Humanscale’s height-adjustable Float Mini tables offer an ideal solution for improving well-being and productivity—wherever work happens. Powered by a pneumatic cylinder, Float Mini promotes natural movement with a smooth, adjustable worksurface that glides effortlessly to different heights, eliminating the need for proximity to a power source and ensuring ergonomic comfort in any setting.
Designed with an offset leg, Float Mini maximises stability while providing more usable space beneath the desk. Unlike centered bases, this thoughtful design places the desk column closer to the edge, improving legroom and making it easier to position the desk against walls or under side-tables, offering versatility in both home and office environments.
The Float Mini table seamlessly blends classic residential aesthetics with Humanscale’s renowned ergonomic design, offering a compact, versatile solution for both home and workspaces. The Float Mini features a natural linoleum surface that is wear-resistant, anti-static, and fingerprint-proof, with a refined matte finish. This sustainable material is crafted from finely ground linoleum granulate, derived from oxidised vegetable linseed oil and natural pine rosin, combined with wood flour and colour pigments. A water-based, cross-linked acrylic coating protects the surface while preserving linoleum’s soft, tactile feel.
For those seeking another eco-friendly option, the Float Mini is also available with a bamboo surface. Both materials offer a perfect blend of natural beauty and practical durability, underscoring Humanscale’s commitment to sustainable design without compromising functionality.

Trea Collection
Merging simplicity with sophistication, Trea delivers intuitive ergonomic support to any workspace. Designed in collaboration with renowned designer Todd Bracher, Trea’s innovative solid-state recline mechanism provides seamless, natural movement without manual adjustments. Its contoured shell is thoughtfully crafted to support the body’s curves, enhancing lower back support and mimicking the hips’ natural rotation. With a minimalist aesthetic and versatile design, Trea is ideal for professional, home, and “third place” environments, offering both comfort and style.
Inspired by nature, Todd Bracher collaborated with Humanscale to create the Trea Task Lite and Stool. Adaptable to both office and home environments, Trea’s four-star, cantilever, stool, or four-leg bases are interchangeable, allowing it to be customised for different settings while maintaining visual consistency. True to Humanscale’s belief in achieving more with less, Trea is crafted with fewer parts than a standard task chair, reducing its environmental impact while maximising efficiency.

The international jury of experts consisted of 131 independent design experts who recognised Humanscale design sensibilities in both products prevailing against the high calibre competition and deservedly winning the coveted seal of approval.
Humanscale’s award-winning products will be featured in the 2025 iF Design Award exhibition, which showcases cutting-edge design innovation from around the world. The Float Mini and Trea Collection will also be included in the iF DESIGN AWARD digital platform and promotional materials.
