Design atelier, Shepherd& has recently completed a newly refurbished 16,000 sq ft of Cat A workspace at 45 Pall Mall, delivering more than just a conventional office upgrade. Working closely with the developer, Knight Frank and contractor Vincent White, Shepherd& has transformed the levels 1 and 2 in the property into a lifestyle driven workplace designed to attract long-term tenants.
Perfectly positioned in the heart of St James’s, 45 Pall Mall places companies at the centre of London’s most refined commercial district. Moments from St James’s Park, Green Park, and Hyde Park, the location offers an unparalleled work-life balance.

Spanning two floors, the scheme offers flexible and exceptional office space in one of London’s most exclusive business addresses. While the building was already efficient and structurally modern, Shepherd& approached the project as a strategic repositioning, refreshing its identity and unlocking its full potential.

Shepherd& played a central role in bringing the space to life, acting as both creative partner and problem solver. Beyond delivering a high-quality Cat A fit-out with unique bespoke lighting, the team worked alongside the developer and agents to rethink how the space should be marketed and experienced. This included shaping the two floors’s space narrative for businesses, building on its architectural legacy, previously designed by Morey Smith, while creating a contemporary environment aligned with the expectations of today’s office occupiers. The result is a redefined workplace concept – one that blends design and functionality, to maximise appeal to long-term leasing success.

Through close collaborations with the developer and contractor Vincent White, Shepherd& has delivered a workplace that goes beyond specification, creating a compelling space for occupiers and a strong leasing tool for the building’s owners. By combining strategic thinking, design expertise, and a deep understanding of an occupier needs alongside geographic context, Shepherd& continues to redefine how Cat A workspace can be positioned in today’s competitive office market.
