Simple and elegant describes the three latest additions to Fine Cell Work’s range of hand stitched cushions. The patterns depict shells and leaves, and complement each other in terms of their natural style, colour and fabric. Designed by Melissa Wyndham, these deceptively simple motifs will look lovely in a coastal holiday home or a country cottage. SHELLS There are two shell designs, featuring the Conch and the Ammonite. Each cushion has nine symmetrical shells which are stitched in French knots onto pale blue linen. It is a complicated and time consuming stitch that requires patience and precision to achieve the three dimensional effect for the finished design. Each shell takes between eight and ten hours to embroider Conch and Ammonite cushions are £185 each.
