A range of Polyflor’s high design and high performance vinyl flooring was recently installed at Rhondda Housing Association’s brand new Llys Graig Y Wion social housing development in Pontypridd, Wales.
Formerly a primary school, the stone built Victorian property has been converted by Rhondda Housing Association into much needed affordable yet high quality accommodation for the area. Polyflor’s Acoustix Forest fx, Colonia and Polysafe Verona flooring was installed by Artisan Flooring of Swansea in approximately 29 apartments within Llys Graig Y Wion’s three main blocks and three bungalows.
520m² of Acoustix Forest fx PUR sheet vinyl flooring in European Oak 3345 was installed in communal areas at Llys Graig Y Wion including stairwells, hallways and landings. Featuring a realistic wood design, this hardwearing commercial grade acoustic flooring provides an impact sound reduction level of 19dB for high traffic areas thanks to its closed cell foam backing, exceeding Building Regulations Part E requirements.
1600m² of Polyflor’s Colonia PUR luxury vinyl tile in English Oak 4435 was fitted throughout living spaces in the development’s apartments. Designed specifically for use in the home, the Colonia range features 10 wood and 8 stone effect designs with authentic surface embossing for added realism. These luxury vinyl tiles also include Polyflor’s renowned PUR polyurethane reinforcement for a low maintenance and simple cleaning regime.
Polysafe Verona PUR decorative, carborundum-free safety flooring was also installed in apartment bathrooms to provide sustainable slip resistance in these often wet areas. The Café Noir 5204 shade chosen for this project features virtually invisible safety particles and tonal decorative chips to give the look of smooth vinyl with the performance of a safety floor.
Members of Rhondda Housing Association Board of Management recently visited the new development and commented: “We are proud of our new Llys Graig Y Wion development.
