Better Client and Architect relationships to be championed at colourful MIPIM UK Visitors Lounge

Delegates to MIPIM UK are in for a visual feast when they attend the UK’s largest gathering of property and real estate professionals later this month. The Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) London region has revealed a visual of the 2015 ‘RIBA MIPIM UK Visitor Lounge,’ designed by architects, Draisci Studio. The temporary structure will stand in place through the duration of MIPIM UK, which will run at London’s Olympia from 21-23 October.

The lounge, which is open to all delegates as a place to take a break from networking or hold a business meeting, will highlight the partnership between RIBA and MIPIM UK, whilst also promoting a newly published report from RIBA called ‘Client and Architect: Developing the Essential Relationship.’ The special report, one of the legacies of Stephen Hodder’s two-year RIBA Presidency, provides practical advice from clients and architects about how to improve their services and unlock greater value.

Draisci Studio, who won a design competition organised by RIBA Competitions, has designed an eye-catching and vibrant visitor lounge occupying a large 200m² area in a prime position in the Olympia exhibition hall.  Utilising flat pack modular boxes made from honeycomb board that are simple to assemble, the result will be a considered space that is welcoming, warm and stimulating for visitors, as well as sustainable. The design incorporates sustainable and reusable elements, while waste is minimised once the structure is dismantled. This unique space will provide a quality area for delegates to meet and network.

RIBA London is working with Herman Miller and Dufaylite as supporters of the project.
