COSTA DAURADA – THE COMPLETE SPANISH GOLF DESTINATION

Costa Daurada, located one hour south of Barcelona on the North East coast of Spain, is fast becoming Spain’s ultimate destination with an array of stunning courses and world class leisure activities to match.

There are some truly spectacular courses in the region including those designed by golfing legend Greg Norman and legendary course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. The 45 hole Lumine Golf Club, with two courses designed by Norman, is a true golfing haven with magnificent views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Bonmont Golf Club, designed by Jones, also has breath-taking scenery as well the golfing challenge to match.

On top of these two courses, the region boasts Panoramica Golf, designed by golfing legend Bernhard Langer, as well as the impressive courses at Costa Dorada Golf Club, La Graiera Golf Club and Aigüesverds Golf club.

However it is not just the golf that is such a huge attraction to this area. The Costa Daurada has a wide ranging portfolio in terms of what else it can offer to holiday makers.

From a cultural perspective the Roman Heritage site of Tarragona and the Cisterian Monastery of Poblet both offer rich and historical appeal as well as being UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Highly recommended is also the ‘Modernism Route’ through the town of Reus which is a cultural stroll where visitors can see some of the stunning facades on buildings from the Modernism era. The town of Reus is also known for its shopping qualities with over 600 stores.

Costa Daurada also boasts cuisine of a famously high standard. Michelin starred restaurants offer a broad range of distinctive Mediterranean flavours to cater for the needs of all the family, broadening the appeal even further of this fabulous region of Spain.

Along with award winning gastronomy, Costa Daurada has six of the best wine regions in Spain including the Priorat and the Cava Region. The significance of the wine industry to the region is emphasised by the fact that throughout the year, most notably harvest time at the end of summer, there are fairs and festivals celebrating the unique flavours produced locally.
