With the continued increase in popularity of Aluminium Doors and Windows, KAT has noticed a bottleneck when it comes to coloured products. There simply isn’t enough capacity in the UK based aluminium paint supply chain to meet current demand. This has led to KAT looking at ways to make the colour buying choice straightforward for the homeowner while improving lead times.
Chris Powell, Commercial Director said “A lot of time and effort went into researching the most popular colour demand. We have used a number of sources for our research including historical data from our own archives, that of our systems partners and data from key retail partners.”
“We have found that the seven most popular colour combinations are: Anthracite Grey, Light Grey, White, Black and Cream in single colour format; and Anthracite Grey out : White in and Black out : White in in dual colour format. This colour mix accounts for over 97% of the entire market demand in the trade residential sector. Based on this KAT have taken the bold step of committing all of these colour options to stock, meaning that KAT’s customers will enjoy the broadest and most comprehensive aluminium product range from stock anywhere in the industry.”
Based on this comprehensive stock commitment, KAT’s customers now benefit from a 10-day lead time for aluminium Bifold doors, Patio doors, French and Single glazed doors and a 15-day lead time for aluminium windows in all colours.
If colours outside of the stock selection are required for a very bespoke project, KAT can still provide a solution through its factory dedicated to Schuco aluminium systems based in Newhaven.
In summary KAT offer the broadest range of stock colour in the industry on ALuK systems. If a bespoke colour outside of this range is required, no problem, KAT can fulfill all other colour requirements from it’s Schuco range. This truly is the best of both worlds.
