Ideal Standard, the leading provider of innovative and design-driven bathroom solutions, has partnered with bimstore to provide many of its products as Build Information Modelling (BIM) components, allowing specifers to easily download high quality objects for use in their work.
bimstore is a service which makes it easy for specifiers to source and use BIM objects while designing and planning projects. Ideal Standard has a longstanding commitment to BIM and has also worked with National Building Specification (NBS) since May 2015 to host its BIM objects on the National BIM Library.
Ideal Standard collections available to download via bimstore include Concept Freedom, designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, Concept Space, which makes smarter use of the space available in projects where square footage is at a premium, and Tempo, a range of chic, streamlined products for family bathrooms.
Tony Rheinberg, Head of Commercial Marketing at Ideal Standard, said: “All public funded construction projects are to move to BIM by the end of 2016, so supporting this innovative process is key for Ideal Standard. With our long history and extensive experience, we’re keen to invest in advanced technology so that our innovative products continue to work in this ever evolving sector.
“Ideal Standard has already committed to hosting 3,000 objects within the National BIM Library, which is the primary source of BIM content in the UK. Our work with bimstore is an extension of this and we’re glad to offer specifiers another way to source high quality objects while working through the planning of a building.
“Our products have featured in some of the UK’s most iconic and interesting building projects, including the regeneration of Stratford and the Olympic Village, the Leadenhall Building, the Emirates Stadium and St Pancras station. We hope the future use of our BIM objects means we’ll feature in many more exciting and inspiring sites.”
