HYDE Kensington is now officially open. Located opposite Kensington Palace this cocktail bar and lounge is bringing a brand new offering to this part of the capital. The discreet entrance guides you to a warmly lit environment where you will find spacious booths with plush sofas, high seats at the bar and various tables throughout the venue, as well as a secret nightclub at the rear.
Their fantastic cocktail list has been designed by world class bartender Andy Mil. Andy has put together some amazing signature creations including the ‘Mad Hatter’ which comprises Bombay Sapphire gin, Hyde Ginger Brew and fresh lemon juice, served in a smoking glass teapot. Another is called the ‘Shell Shock’ made from Bacardi Negra, Bacardi Superior, pineapple juice and Hyde’s own caramel and coconut mix, served in a large ceramic seashell; big enough to share.
There is also fantastic food on offer from Chef Adi Gunawan, who previously worked under Ian Pengelly for 8 years at the famous Gilgamesh. The Pan- Asian menu he has created is already winning fans at previews and includes such signature dishes as the plum, miso-marinated Chilean sea bass, and the duck & watermelon salad with cashew nuts and Thai herbs.
Another very exciting element to this venue is the bespoke artwork created by leading artist JJ Adams. His time in South Africa and training as a tattoo artist can be seen to greatly influence his work; work that currently includes some of the art worlds most talked about modern pieces. His most recent collection sold out almost immediately, so the bespoke work he has created for Hyde Kensington is already much anticipated.
Hyde also has one more trick up it’s sleeve. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights a secret door at the back of the venue will slide open to reveal a fabulous dance floor. It comes complete with a top spec DJ booth and lighting, offering revelers the ideal place to let down their hair, until a very generous 3 am.
Hyde Kensington can accommodate up to 100 guests seated and 200 standing.
