Home improvement retailer Wickes has launched ‘Wickes Hourly’, a new delivery service that provides customers with a choice of one-hour time slots for their product deliveries. The service is made possible through a partnership with delivery technology brand, On the dot, following a successful trial.
Introduced nationwide, hourly delivery is designed to make home improvement shopping quicker and easier. Whether it be power tool failure or running out of a product mid-job, this latest service offer from Wickes enables customers to chose ultra-convenient delivery.
There are over 7,000 products available through Wickes Hourly and orders can be made online or through the customer services team. Precise one-hour windows are available seven days a week and same day, from £9.95.
Wickes Hourly compliments the range of fulfilment options already available to customers, including such as next day and one-hour click & collect. This latest delivery service provides customers with even more delivery choice.
Duncan Kendal, Supply Chain Director at Wickes, commented: “At Wickes, we pride ourselves on making our customers’ lives that little bit easier and we’re excited to say we’re the first to market with this new delivery option in our sector. Our product and services are designed to help customers build stress-free dream spaces that they can enjoy with family and friends. Whether you need paint or power tools, by partnering with On the dot we have been able to offer a range of home improvement products exactly where and when people need them.’’
Developed in 2015, On the dot is based on innovative new technology, created specifically to help retailers offer highly convenient deliveries at prices comparable to next day delivery. On the dot is operated by CitySprint – the largest privately owned courier fleet in the UK, with a regional network of 41 service centres – and supported by its GPS, SMS and email tracking technology. Its open API means it can be easily integrated into retailers’ checkouts and EPOS, both online and in-store.
Patrick Gallagher, CEO of On the dot – a CitySprint brand, commented: “We are delighted that Wickes has adopted our one-hour delivery service. We know that consumers now expect to shop on their terms and it is retailers, like Wickes, who have put convenient delivery at the top of their agenda, that will succeed in retaining and attracting new customers.’’
