LONDON, UK – 25 October 2016: Humax has introduced the H3 Espresso Smart Media Player, providing hours of free entertainment in any room in the house via the user’s wireless network – without the need for extra aerial sockets or tuners.

Extremely easy to set up and install, the user can simply plug in the H3 Espresso to the HDMI port on any HD TV, connect to the home network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable following the step-by-step guide, and the player is ready to use in a matter of minutes – with no further wires and no additional subscriptions or fees required.

Pre-installed apps and services include Netflix*, YouTube and TVPlayer**, delivering a host of exciting streamed programmes, series, films and other content that can be enjoyed on-demand, any time, in any location in the home.

With the TVPlayer service, the viewer can choose from more than 55 free-to-air channels, as well as an additional 25 Plus popular video-on-demand channels, including HISTORY®, Lifetime®, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Discovery, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, and National Geographic Channel. A two month free subscription to TVPlayer is included, redeemable via a special voucher supplied in the H3 Espresso box.

In addition to streamed content, the HUMAX H3 Espresso enables users to view apps and media files of many types from their own DLNA (home network) connected devices – such as smartphones, tablets or laptops – on an HD television.

As well as video-based content, the user’s photos, music and other audio files from Android-based mobile devices can also be shared with family and friends at the highest quality via an HD TV. iOS and Android devices can also be transformed into a digital remote control for the H3 Espresso using the HUMAX CAST App.

Further content, such as recorded programmes, can be accessed when the H3 is paired with the HUMAX FVP-4000T Freeview Play personal video recorder. When connected to the FVP-4000T, the user can select channels through the built-in Electronic Programming Guide, and view and record their favourite programmes easily via the integrated hard drive. In addition, more than one H3 Espresso can be linked simultaneously to the home network, allowing users to extend the viewing experience to up to four separate rooms in the house, and ensuring maximum enjoyment for all the family.

For owners of the recently-launched HUMAX EYE HD Cloud Camera, live or recorded footage from the home monitoring camera can also be watched via the device through the dedicated HUMAX EYE app.

Recognised for its outstanding design and engineering excellence, the HUMAX H3 Espresso has already been honoured with both a Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award. The diminutive dimensions and subtle styling of the device, with its wood-effect top and slim black base, complement the latest Humax set-top boxes and PVRs, and allow it to be positioned discreetly in any room to give aerial-free wireless TV around the home.

Graham North, vice president sales at Humax, said, “This innovative Smart Media Player represents yet another technology breakthrough from Humax. Ideal as a stand-alone streaming device, or in partnership with the Humax Freeview Play PVR range, the H3 Espresso delivers a seamless and easy-to-use solution for multi-room TV viewing. This ingenious OTT device also gives customers access to the recently-launched HUMAX EYE HD Cloud Camera via the integrated app, for convenient home monitoring on the big screen.”
