London Build Expo Draws in the Crowds Despite Brexit Concerns in UK Construction

London Build took place at its new home the Olympia, on October 26th & 27th. The only event of its kind to focus on construction opportunities in London; London Build brought together 10,000+ ‘movers & shakers’ from across the capital’s construction industry.

London Build 2016 was a phenomenal success and resulted in a significant number of exhibitor re-bookings for 2017.

Event Organisers Oliver Kinross attributes the success of this year’s London Build to 3 key areas: networking opportunities; entertainment; and content. These 3 key factors were the successful ingredients to making a fun show that attendees stayed at all day, whilst creating an excellent forum for business to be conducted. Networking opportunities were myriad: Meet the Buyer sessions; VIP lunches featuring 800+ hosted-buyers over two-days; the London Construction Awards; a Women in Construction tea morning; plus much more. Greeted by an incredibly convincing and humorous Mr Bean lookalike armed with a metal detector, entertainment began from the very moment that attendees arrived and even included; live musicians and street performers played throughout the day; robots were walking around the hall; there was an Oktoberfest beer festival with live German entertainment; a Jimmy Carr comedy evening, plus much more. Over 100 high-level speakers from London’s construction industry provided first-class content that drew extremely positive feedback, this included the first presentation from Heathrow Airport just days after the government announced they’d won the new runway.

Despite the event’s focus on the Greater London region, London Build was a truly global event with delegates and exhibitors travelling from all 4 corners of the world. This is a true testament to the mass appeal and opportunity London’s construction industry has to offer. For next year’s London Build, we are delighted to be working with a new network of international sales agents who will be bringing an increased number and range of international exhibitors to London Build. On the back of a highly successful London Build 2016 we are now looking to grow London Build into one of the world’s leading construction exhibitions; and a must-attend event in the global construction industry calendar
