Landmark and Ambiental webinar provides insights into future flood modelling

Property, land and environmental data experts Landmark Information and Ambiental Risk Analytics are hosting a free webinar that provides an introduction to FloodFutures®; the first national dataset that offers clear and accurate flood risk information for Great Britain for the 2020s, 2050s and 2080s.

With unprecedented flooding hitting the country this winter, it provides a very real and stark warning to organisations regarding the need to proactively plan for – and mitigate the risks – relating to the changing climate.

The webinar, which takes place on Friday 28th February from 12:30pm until 1:15pm, will show how FloodFutures can provide insights into current and future flood modelling for businesses, utility providers, highways teams, developers and local authorities. This allows for proactive adaptations or investment in the right places now, ahead of time.

The FloodFutures dataset incorporates the latest river flow, rainfall, sea level rise and climate change predictions available, and can power the creation of unique, innovative new layers, providing insight into flood hazards and the resulting impacts on property, infrastructure, river banks, transport networks and bridges.

Tom Telford, Account Director at Landmark Information will be hosting the webinar, along with Rob Carling, Channel Sales Manager at Ambiental.  Confirms Tom: “By having a clear view of current and future flood risks, asset managers can create a plan that considers where there is a risk and consider the potential impact on communities, property assets, critical services, emergency response planning, supply chain and contaminant mobilisation and migration. Forewarned is forearmed.”
