Next week FUTURE Designs will be showcasing their carbon careful™ initiative at FOOTPRINT+ in Brighton. FUTURE Designs has pioneered the refurbishment and upgrading of existing luminaires and carcasses for over 12 years, leading to the development of the carbon careful™ initiative. They take existing lighting products and renew the luminaires with latest LED technology, transforming them into highly efficient luminaires, extending the lifespan and drastically reducing the carbon usage and overall cost.
FOOTPRINT+ Brighton is focused on reducing carbon emissions within the UK property sector, bringing together industry experts, developers, local authorities, housing associations, investors, and asset managers who are committed to driving significant carbon reduction efforts.
In addition to exhibiting, Chief Executive, David Clements, will be attending the conference as a panellist, participating in a discussion titled “The Embodied Carbon of Building Services – Improving Transparency.” He will be joined by: Ben Abel, Technical Director at Hilson Moran, Julie Godefroy, Head of Net Zero Policy at CIBSE, Will Bury, Environmental Design Engineer at Introba, and Martin Fahey, Head of Sustainability at Mitsubishi electric.
This session aims to address the growing scrutiny on carbon accounting in the built environment and the need for improved transparency of verified greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data, particularly in relation to building services. As the recent increase in retrofit activity and carbon targets drive greater attention to the embodied carbon of products, building services have become increasingly relevant in the overall carbon reduction strategy.
Chief Executive, David Clements said “FUTURE Designs is the UK’s most experienced provider of reusing and adapting existing luminaires to latest technology and has been at the forefront of this via our carbon careful™ initiative at FOOTPRINT+. Now, as the world is faced with a growing necessity to Refurbish, Reuse and Restore wherever feasible, we are sharing our story and expertise to encourage more organisations to follow suit and ensure every luminaire is utilised fully and never wasted.”
