Founded in 2018 by Laylah Holmes, Holmes Bespoke specialises in bespoke hand-crafted rugs, carpets, wall hands and home accessories, committed to building long-lasting relationships, offering a collaborative design experience, and creating exceptional quality products for its portfolio of residential and commercial clients.

Bringing the Vision to Life
Laylah and her team work closely with private clients, interior designers, and project leads to deliver bespoke design solutions for a wide range of spaces. Their offering includes fully customisable rugs, runners, fitted carpets, wall-hangings, tapestries, and home accessories, alongside an extensive made-to-order collection.
Every piece is created in-house at Holmes Bespoke, where contemporary aesthetic meets heritage and craftsmanship. Working alongside skilled artisans, the team uses generation sold, traditional techniques to create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces with materials that are deigned to last.
Every rug at Holmes Bespoke is entirely unique and custom-led, with each piece showcasing the brand’s signature style: contemporary, elegant and with a strong fashion influence.
The Design Process
Every Holmes Bespoke rug begins with collaboration. Working closely with each client, the team matches colour and motif, determines shape and size, and selects materials from a variety of fibres including jute, bamboo silk, wool and hemp. Before production begins, clients will review the initial concept and explore samples from Holmes Bespoke’s extensive library, ensuring every detail is aligned with their vision.
Once designs are finalised, expert artisans wash, spin, and dye the chosen yarns, setting up individual looms for handwoven or hand-knotted pieces, and stencilling intricate patterns for hand-tufted designs. Each rug is crafted by hand, with artisans weaving the client’s vision into every stitch. The pieces are then hand-trimmed or sheared, depending on the design, bound, and washed before undergoing quality checks by expert weavers from the Holmes Bespoke team.
International Clientele – Residential and Hospitality sectors
Holmes Bespoke specialises in creating custom rugs that are handcrafted to order using the highest quality fibres. Their work spans an international client base, delivering pieces for private residences, boutique hotels, commercial spaces, and superyachts.
Recent notable projects include a series of vibrant, jazz-inspired rugs for the Broadwick Hotel in Soho, an extensive collaboration with The Hoxton Hotel across its Holborn, Shepherd’s Bush, Southwark, and Barcelona locations and a calming, retreat-inspired collection for Gleneagles Spa. The studio also regularly works on a range of private residential projects where they partner with luxury interior design practices to complement and enhance their broader visions. These are just a few highlights in their diverse and growing portfolio.
Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of Holmes Bespoke’s ethos. With a commitment to creating highquality, long-lasting pieces, the studio works with natural and recycled materials to reduce environmental impact without compromising on craftsmanship. Guided by a low-waste philosophy, every project is made to order, and leftover yarns or fabric scraps are repurposed
for sample development or future projects.
The ‘Shore’ collection is hand-knotted using PET yarn made from recycled plastic bottles that are collected along India’s coastline. This fibre is not only more durable than standard polyester but also offers colour retention and durability.
Similarly, the ‘Denim’ collection gives a new life to discarded denim, repurposing offcuts from the washing, cutting, sewing, and rolling processes to be reworked by the skilled artisans at Holmes Bespoke. These collections reflect the brand’s beliefs of combining environmental responsibility with beautiful design.
Awards and Accolades
Holmes Bespoke has earned industry-wide recognition, having been named a Walpole Brand of Tomorrow 2023 and joining the ranks of esteemed Walpole Members. The studio was also selected as a Design Awards Member 2023, featured in House & Garden’s ‘The List’, and received the Homes & Gardens Award for Best Floor Covering for its vibrant Candy Collection. Holmes Bespoke has showcased its work at leading industry events including Clerkenwell Design Week, Decorex International, the Monaco Yacht Show, and HIX London, and has contributed her expertise as a panellist at London Design Week in both 2024 and 2022.
