NEW GENERATION OF FIRE DOORS AT HOUSING 2021 @firedoorsystems

This September, fds (fire door systems) will be returning to Manchester Central to showcase its new generation composite fire door system, Neuma fds, at Housing 2021.

After more than a year of digital experiences, fds will be encouraging visitors to stand E28 to explore its FD30 Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) composite fire door system, in-person.

Neuma fds has consistently proven fire resistance with 44 individual test specimens subject to 22 bi-directional fire tests, achieving an average of 45 minutes integrity.  Each fire test was filmed, with the footage forming part of a prominent audio-visual display on the stand.  Initial Type Testing (ITT) will also be available to view.

Stand E28 will feature six complete composite fire doorsets, each varying in colour and style, and complemented by a range of fire-rated hardware and door closers.  Several of the doors will be operable, enabling delegates to appreciate the quality of the doors alongside the ergonomics and aesthetics.

fds will be joined on the stand by members of its UK-wide fabrication network.  Each fds doorset manufacturing partner is selected by fds and audited to meet the non-mandatory requirements of Q-Mark STD 170.

Dave Walker, technical director of Distinction Doors, stockist and distributor of the fds brand says: “This year’s Housing exhibition is a valuable opportunity for visitors to understand and appreciate our fire door system, in real life.

“We are particularly excited to show our fire doorset range to local authorities, housing associations, house builders and developers in light of the recent introduction of the Building Safety Bill to government.

“We are confident that this new generation of composite fire doors exceeds requirements and meets demand for a robust and proven low maintenance fire doorset solution, while giving reassurance and peace of mind to all stakeholders.”
