Bifacial modules, a new storage system and an inverter for small systems: new products set to be unveiled by SolarWorld at the upcoming Intersolar Europe event in Munich, Germany. The new bifacial module builds on the established Sunmodule Protect glass-glass module. The new SunPac LiOn storage system starts at 2 kWh of useable energy storage and is therefore also suitable for small solar power systems. With the Sunplug eco inverter, SolarWorld plugs a gap in its product range and can now offer quality conscious customers all of the components of a solar power system incl. inverter under the SolarWorld label.
Sunmodule Protect 360° duo solar power module with bifacial cells
Intersolar is set to provide the stage for SolarWorld’s first ever unveiling of a solar power module based on bifacial cells. The company uses the well-known Sunmodule Protect glass-glass module, combining the advantages of glass-glass modules with innovative bifacial technology. The new Sunmodule Protect 360° duo utilises both direct sunlight striking the face of the module and indirect light across the rear of the cell. Under ideal conditions, the technology achieves up to 25 percent greater energy yields, reducing the pay-off period of the system considerably. The module consists of 60 cells particularly well protected with glass panes on the front and back. The double glass layering makes the module extremely durable and affords it a service life of at least 30 years. By utilising sunlight on both sides of the module, the Sunmodule Protect 360° duo is ideal for flat roofs and ground-mounted systems. The first bifacial modules will be available from the fourth quarter of 2015.
SunPac LiOn: The new solar power storage system from 2 kWh of battery capacity
SolarWorld is set to launch its second storage system based on proven lithium-iron phosphate technology with the new SunPac LiOn. The SunPac LiOn will be available from a useable storage capacity of 2 kWh and can be modularly extended in 2 kWh increments up to 10 kWh in the same cabinet. The individual battery modules are connected to one another by plug connectors. This allows installers to connect the device quickly and easily. SunPac LiOn demonstrates a depth of charging of 100 percent. With a total of 10,000 charging cycles, the storage system helps users increase their self-consumption significantly. As connection is established at the alternating current side, the system is suitable both for new plants and for retrofitting existing solar power systems. The Suntrol eManager controls energy management. Users can display current flows in the home graphically via the Suntrol MyHome portal. The storage system will be available from the fourth quarter of 2015.
Sunplug eco: Inverter for small solar power systems
The new SolarWorld Sunplug eco inverter in power classes 1.2 to 5.5 kW is ideal for small solar power systems on private homes. A peak efficiency of 98.6 percent and integrated shade management ensure maximum yields. Weighing less than 12 kg, Sunplug eco is extremely light. The low weight, simple plug connections and guided menu system facilitate straightforward plug and play assembly for installers. With a very low sound level of below 32 dB, the Sunplug eco operates extremely quietly. The data logger is integrated and connects the inverter directly to the Suntrol portal for monitoring the system. A 5-year guarantee is included; as part of a SolarWorld kit, the customer receives a guarantee extension to 10 years at no extra cost. With the Sunplug eco, SolarWorld plugs a gap in its current product range and now offers all of the components of a solar power system in its own name.
