Surface Design Awards are a part of the Surface Design Show which is the only event in the UK that solely focuses on interior and exterior surfaces. The Surface Design Show will be returning to the Business Design Centre, Islington London from the 6 – 8th February 2018, connecting an audience of architects and designers with the best innovative and exhilarating surfaces from across the World.
Surface Design Awards are looking for the best interior and exterior design projects which feature innovative surfaces and this is the last chance to apply as entry for the awards close on Friday 29th September 2017.
2017 Supreme Winner: The Broad, USA by ARUP/Dillier Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler
The Surface Design Awards, launched in 2013, have massively grown in both stature and quality. There are 13 Awards across 7 distinct categories, most being divided into exterior and interior groups. As well as a Supreme Award presented to the category winner which the judges believe stands out for its excellence. Each project is judged on a variety of criteria including materials used, type of surface and aesthetic design.
2017 shortlisted projects included a church in Kenya, wine and spirit museum in China and a studio in Scotland with The Broad, USA by ARUP/Dillier Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler receiving the honour of being named the supreme winner.
This year’s judging panel will be co-chaired by Ab Rogers, Creative Director of Ab Rogers Design, and Tina Norden, Project Director of Conran and Partners. Joining them are 6 fellow professionals from the architecture and design world:

It is essential to enter your project by 29th September 2017 to secure the chance to be shortlisted in one of the most respected award events of the year.
Projects can be submitted by the client, architect or designer, surface supplier or their representative.
